Tabula and Titan IC Systems Partner to Offer High-Speed Content Analysis Products
Products Deliver Breakthrough 40G Performance, Targeting Next-Generation Firewalls, Software-Defined Networking, and Big Data Analytics
SANTA CLARA, Calif., November 5, 2013 – Tabula, Inc., announced today a partnership with Titan IC Systems, a world leader in hardware engines for content and network processing, to offer high-speed content analysis products. This partnership combines the two companies' innovative technologies to deliver a new solution to designers of next-generation firewalls (NGFW), software-defined networking (SDN), and Big Data analytics that require programmable, high-speed content inspection products with line rate throughput for 40G and 100G networks. This solution features the seamless integration of Titan IC's Regular Expression Processor (RxP) soft IP powered by Tabula's ABAX2P1 3PLD.
“Tabula is a leader in programmable, high-performance networking devices. Its Spacetime® architecture enables the design of 12 and 24-port memories on chip, delivering unmatched embedded memory throughput and capacity, as well as a unique ability to support multiple 100G streams on a single device,” says Godfrey Gaston, CEO of Titan IC. “By adopting and optimizing our regular expression processor soft IP, we can now offer our mutual customers a unique integrated high-speed content analysis solution.”
“The combination of Titan IC’s memory-centric algorithms with the unmatched memory bandwidth of Tabula’s 3PLDs results in breakthrough 40G performance,” says Marc Miller, Sr. Director of Marketing at Tabula. “Through our close collaboration with Titan IC, we can supply customers with highly versatile complex content analysis with cross packet inspection, an extensive set of PCRE/POSIX compliant tools, and an API plus drivers.”
More about the RxP Soft IP Core
The RxP regular expression processor core is scalable for 10-40 Gb/s throughput. The core supports a large rule database of up to 10,000 rules using ABAX2P1 on-chip caches or 1M rules using optional, external DDR3 memory. It achieves this combination of high throughput and database depth by handling multiple characters and multiple regular expressions in parallel, including cross packet inspection. The core operates in an in-line or lookaside, accelerator role.
