Rockchip and Analogix Team Up on SlimPort Mobile Development Platforms
New Smart Phone and Tablet Reference Designs Speed Time to Market of Mobile Devices taking the Small Screen to the Big Screen
SANTA CLARA, Calif.-- December 3, 2013 -- Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co., Ltd, a leading manufacturer of mobile application processors, and Analogix Semiconductor, Inc., a leading innovator in mixed signal circuits and IP, team up to launch SlimPort® enabled reference designs targeting mainstream smartphones and tablets.
SlimPort delivers uncompressed audio and video over the existing mobile USB connector to HD TVs, computer monitors and projectors, while conserving mobile battery life. The SlimPort interface provides simple plug-and-play connectivity and allows mobile users to enjoy their content in theater-quality full 1080p video and audio on virtually any size displays, without the need for extra power cables.
“The marriage of Rockchip’s high-performance graphics processing and SlimPort delivers outstanding video performance,” said Mr. Chen Feng, vice president of Marketing for RockChip. “We’ve added SlimPort to our reference designs to make it easy for our customers to incorporate SlimPort in their products.”
“2013 marks the year that devices become significantly more interoperable, leveraging the cloud, and sharing content with a variety of screens,” said Andre Bouwer, vice president of Marketing at Analogix. “SlimPort allows rich content on mobile devices to be displayed in its most pure and high-performance form on large screens, without losing battery power in the process.”
