Arrow Devices announces world's first USB Power Delivery Verification IP
Bangalore, India, Feb. 6th 2014 – Even as USB Power Delivery (USB PD) adoption grows to a crescendo, Arrow Devices has announced development of the world’s first USB PD Verification IP solution. The company is a front runner in development of Verification IPs and has previously been in the news for launching innovative products (e.g., the Protocol Debugger Tool).
The USB Power Delivery Specification is growing in popularity. It is expected to make life easier for millions of end consumers by providing a flexible and versatile power delivery mechanism for charging and operating mobile devices. Combined with the ubiquity of the USB port on all kinds of consumer devices (and increasingly even on wall power panels) the USB Power Delivery capability promises to be a mini revolution.
The company claims that its verification solution de-risks USB PD design IP development effort by providing a high degree of confidence over various design features and scenarios such as Power-up, Hard and Soft Reset, Power Negotiation, Role Swap, GoToMin, Dead Battery, etc. before shipping silicon.
Adds Aditya Mittal, CEO of Arrow Devices, “USB PD development is picking up pace quite rapidly, and we wanted to be sure that we have a high quality solution that allows our customers to rapidly launch this technology in the market. This is a comprehensive solution for simulation verification of USB Power Delivery implementation. It provides a BFM along with a full-featured constrained-random Test-bench that implements a comprehensive test-plan and coverage suite”
Arrow Devices has significant USB expertise as demonstrated through its product portfolio. The company also has a ready to use USB 3.0 Controller IP Core solution and a Validator Solution – both of which have been adopted by global top 20 semiconductor companies. It also has a well deployed USB 2.0 verification solution.
