Industry veteran Tony Picard joins videantis as sales VP
Hannover, Germany, June 6, 2014 – Videantis, a leader in computer vision and video coding processor IP solutions, announced today that Tony Picard has joined the company as its vice president for sales, reporting to CEO Hans-Joachim Stolberg. Picard will be responsible for driving customer success and further adoption of the videantis unified video/vision processor IP.
“Videantis is in a unique position to address the growing need for highly efficient video and vision processing with proven solutions that are already shipping in volume. In particular, the markets for automotive advanced driver assistance systems and mobile phone cameras are really taking off,” said Picard. “I’m impressed with the videantis technology, team and business results, and I look forward to leading the sales and customer support organization with the goal of increasing our customer success.”
Stolberg is also pleased with this addition to the company. “Tony Picard brings over twenty years of sales, marketing and management experience with a proven track record in the semiconductor IP business for multimedia applications. At ARM he contributed to the success of their Mali graphics product line, and at Silicon Hive he focused on camera processing, which led to the company’s acquisition by Intel. We’re excited to bring him on board and look forward to his contributions to our rapidly growing customer base and product line.”
Compared to a host CPU, videantis’s scalable, multicore v-MP4000HDX processor architecture provides a 100x performance increase and 1000x power reduction, ideal for bringing new HD/UHD video codecs and novel computer vision and image processing algorithms to automotive, mobile and home applications.
Prior to joining videantis, Tony was at Intrinsic-ID where he served as the VP for business development. Before that he was the VP for sales at Silicon Hive (acquired by Intel Corp) and the worldwide commercial director for ARM’s Media Products division. Tony holds a masters of science in electrical engineering from the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
You can schedule a meeting with videantis at the TSMC Technology Symposium in the Netherlands on June 17 by sending an email to info@videantis.com.
