Boost Valley Announces HDMI 2.0 Verification IP
Cairo, Egypt - September 3, 2015 - Today, Boost Valley has announced the release of the 1st version of its HDMI 2.0 Verification IP. HDMI is an audio/video transmission protocol used in modern consumer electronics, personal computers, and mobile products.
With the constant increase in the amount of bandwidth required by new media, including higher video resolutions, 3D support, and multi-channel/multi-stream audio, a more robust standard has become a must. Multi-layered protocols such as HDMI and Displayport have emerged to meet the ever-growing list of requirements for high speed transmission media. HDMI 2.0 is the most recent version of the HDMI Standard Protocol, targeting next generation displays.
Our HDMI 2.0 VIP addresses the challenges of the audio/video protocol verification, including high resolution video frames and the massive amount of runtime required for these test cases. Among the supported features in our VIP is the ability to test different pixel encoding schemes, color formats, and audio formats. It was carefully engineered by industry experts that understand the challenges our customers are facing. The underlying architecture is very efficiently coded in pure SystemVerilog. We promise our customers a complete flexible solution that reduces the time needed to build their testbenches as well as the time needed to run and debug their designs. Our mission is to maximize our customers’ benefits by reducing their time to market as well as reducing the total engineering cost.
The VIP includes:
- Samples of Test-cases to test all supported HDMI 2.0 features.
- Built-in coverage analysis model.
- VIP User Guide
- HDMI 2.0 UVM Verification IP
- HDMI 2.0 Stream Generator
- HDMI 2.0 Protocol Analyzer
- HDMI 2.0 TMDS TX/RX Transactors
- Sample ScoreBoard
Boost Valley offers a family of interface protocol VIPs, including I2C, I2S and SPDIF. The family is growing soon to include SPI, UART, MIPI CPHY and DPHY VIPs.
