Synopsys Extends Leadership in Functional Safety and Security Verification with Addition of Key Technology for ISO 26262 Compliance
Acquires Leader in Fault Simulation
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 2, 2016 -- Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq:SNPS) has acquired WinterLogic, the technology leader in fault simulation used in automotive, safety and security environments for the design and verification of advanced system on chips (SoCs). Fault simulation is a key technology for compliance testing of the ISO 26262 functional safety standard and its Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) classification. The addition of WinterLogic's leading fault simulation capability extends Synopsys' large and growing solutions for safety and security in the areas of functional verification, hardware-software verification, software quality and cyber security, and automotive grade IP.

The terms of the deal, which is not material to Synopsys financials, have not been disclosed.
