NGCodec and Xilinx Demonstrate H.265/HEVC Video Encoder IP at NAB 2016
NGCodec Encoder IP, built with Vivado HLS and Kintex UltraScale FPGAs, target the data center, broadcast and pro a/v markets
LAS VEGAS -- April 18, 2016 -- NGCodec and Xilinx, Inc. will demonstrate H.265/HEVC video encoder IP at NAB 2016. The NGCodec encoder IP, built with Vivado® High Level Synthesis (HLS) and Kintex® UltraScale™ FPGAs, targets Data Center, Broadcast and Pro A/V markets. Xilinx and NGCodec also jointly announce an investment by Xilinx in NGCodec to help drive this technology to market. NGCodec will demonstrate its H.265 video encoding technology at NAB 2016, Booth #SU9615SUL, from April 16 - 21, 2016.
"Xilinx customers are looking for lower power and cost effective H.265/HEVC video encoding solutions, but still want the flexibility to update the design in the field to support emerging capabilities," said Salil Raje, corporate vice president, Xilinx software and IP products. "Xilinx FPGAs combined with video encoding IP from NGCodec will enable Xilinx customers to have differentiated encoding offerings with the flexibility they are looking for."
"The combination of Xilinx's UltraScale and UltraScale+ FPGA technology with NGCodec's H.265/HEVC codecs provide a potent technology platform," said Mahmoud Al-Daccak, CTO of Haivision, a leading manufacturer of enterprise video solutions. "This assures that we can support the most demanding H.265/HEVC solutions today, with substantial downstream potential capabilities for our customers."
"Xilinx's ongoing support of and recent investment in NGCodec, and Haivision's endorsement of NGCodec's H.265/HEVC video encoder IP highlights the quality of the technology and engineering team at NGCodec," said Oliver Gunasekara, CEO and co-founder NGCodec.
Visitors can contact NGCodec to arrange a VIP demonstration of NGCodec's H.265 Video Encoder IP at NAB 2016, Booth #SU9615SUL, or to request an evaluation.
