videantis wins second Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award fueled by rapid growth in automotive
Hannover, Germany, November 10, 2016 – videantis GmbH, a leading supplier of automotive, mobile, and consumer computer vision and video coding solutions, announced today that for the second time it has been named a winner in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards. The ranking identifies the 50 fastest-growing German technology companies with the highest percentage of revenue growth over the past four years.
“We thank our customers for their continued confidence in our company, which is key to the revenue increase that enabled us to win this award again,“ says Hans-Joachim Stolberg, CEO at videantis. “Especially in automotive, we’ve seen a lot of growth due to the industry’s rapid adoption of advanced driver assistance systems that make our cars safer and more relaxing to drive.”
Self-driving vehicles contain a plethora of electronic devices that convert the huge amounts of captured sensor data into actionable information that can control the car’s speed and direction. videantis has been researching, developing, refining, and licensing a processor that performs these complex machine vision tasks for well over a decade. “If there’s one thing the automotive industry agrees on, it’s that driverless cars need lots of cameras and sensors to understand their surroundings. The technology we’ve developed processes this data at performance and power levels that our competition can’t meet,” says Stolberg. “We’re excited to be working with some of the brightest minds and largest companies in the industry to ensure that a safe and enjoyable driverless future becomes reality.”
Stolberg says the automotive industry is where a lot of the tough computer vision problems are being solved, since accuracy and speed are paramount there. “We’re also seeing a rapidly growing demand to integrate the same technologies we’ve developed into mobile phones and IoT devices to help them understand what they’re seeing. It’s very exciting to be a part of this industrial revolution.”
