Reduced Energy Microsystems Joins FDXcelerator Program to Bring RISC-V IP to GLOBALFOUNDRIES' 22FDX Technology Process
After recently joining the RISC-V Foundation, Reduced Energy Microsystems announces it will bring RISC-V IP to GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ 22FDX® Technology Process
San Francisco, CA -- December 05, 2017 -- Reduced Energy Microsystems (REM) announced today that it has joined GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ FDXcelerator™ Partner Program, and will be making RISC-V CPU IP available for GF’s 22FDX® process. Based around the open source RISC-V ISA, REM’s IP will offer a low-power core to be integrated into future SoCs to be used across a range of verticals.

“GF’s technology and support have made them a terrific partner, and we look forward to making RISC-V IP available to GF customers,” said REM CEO William Koven. “We have benefitted greatly from both the 22FDX and RISC-V ecosystems and we believe we can push both forward with this offering. The market is ready for a new architecture that is not beholden to any one company, and we are excited to play a role in bringing about this paradigm shift.”
“As members of the RISC-V Foundation, we are excited to see more RISC-V IP offerings made available on our processes,” said Alain Mutricy, senior vice president of Product Management at GF. “REM’s agility and low-power design expertise make them an ideal partner for the FDXcelerator program, and we believe our customers will greatly benefit from this offering.”
GF's FDXcelerator Program brings together select partners to integrate their products or services into validated, plug-and-play design solutions, giving customers access to a broad set of quality offerings specific to 22FDX technology. The program's open framework enables members to minimize development time and cost while simultaneously leveraging the inherent power and performance advantages of FDX technology.
