QuickLogic Announces Partnership with Aldec for eFPGA Simulation Flow
Sunnyvale, CA – February 20, 2018 – QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), a developer of ultra-low power multi-core voice-enabled SoCs, embedded FPGA IP, display bridge and programmable logic solutions, announced that it has partnered with Aldec, a leading design verification EDA company, to provide seamless simulation support for its embedded FPGA (eFPGA) technology. Now QuickLogic eFPGA customers can perform design verification using Aldec’s industry-proven Active-HDL™ FPGA Design and Simulation software.
Aldec’s 34+ years of FPGA/ASIC verification expertise enables QuickLogic’s eFPGA customers to work in a seamless environment as part of the Active-HDL tool suite. Active-HDL is a Windows® based integrated FPGA Design Creation and Simulation solution for team-based environments. Active-HDL’s Integrated Design Environment (IDE) includes a full HDL and graphical design tool suite and RTL/gate-level mixed-language simulator for rapid deployment and verification of FPGA, and now eFPGA, designs.
QuickLogic’s Aurora development tool suite will support easy design migration to and from the Aldec simulation environment for designers who are embedding eFPGA technology into their SoC designs. The combination of the two tool sets will deliver a seamless development environment supporting a simple and complete design flow, from RTL to simulation to bitstream for the embedded FPGA portion of the design.
By embedding eFPGA technology into SoC designs, designers can maintain high performance and low power consumption, and ensure post-manufacturing design flexibility to support design fixes, upgrades, market variants and rapidly evolving standards or market requirements.
“We are very happy to collaborate with Aldec for eFPGA simulation flow support,” said Mao Wang, director of product marketing at QuickLogic Corporation. “Simulation is a very important design verification step to ensure proper functionality of the design. Our collaboration with Aldec streamlines this step for our eFPGA customers, enabling them to more quickly and easily complete their embedded FPGA designs and shorten their time-to-market.”
“QuickLogic’s eFPGA technology is an exciting advancement addressing the re-configurability requirements of today’s SoCs. We are looking forward to providing our mutual customers with seamless mixed-language simulation support and a rich-set of debugging environment with our Active-HDL tool suite,” said Louie De Luna, Director of Marketing at Aldec.
The Aldec Active-HDL and QuickLogic Aurora™ development tools supporting QuickLogic’s eFPGA technology are both available now from their respective companies.
