USB4 Gen3X2 and DP1.4 X4 PHY IP with Type-C connector support
M31 MIPI M-PHY is certified with ASIL-B safety level of ISO 26262 to provide safe and reliable automotive SoC design
Taiwan Hsinchu – September 27, 2018 -- M31 Technology Corporation (Taiwan stock code: 6643), a global Silicon Intellectual Property (IP) boutique, announced today that its MIPI M-PHY Gear3 IP has been certified with the ASIL B safety level of ISO 26262 and will be used by international first-class automotive electronics manufacturers to provide safe and reliable automotive SoC design.
The MIPI M-PHY, which is promoted by the global MIPI Alliance,, features high -bandwidth and, low -power features consumption, and supports a variety of hardware interfaces and protocols for display, camera, storage, and power management. MIPI M-PHY IP was originally used in all kinds of Mobile Devices, Wearable Devices, Action Cameras, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, VR headsets, and nowadays the application extends to the field of automotive electronics.
Scott Chang, Vice President of M31 Technology, stated that “The MIPI M-PHY developed by M31 Technology has a transmission rate of 5.83 billion Gigabyte per second per lane (5.83 Gbps/Lane), which has passed different process validations of the tier-one semiconductor manufacturers. The M-PHY Gear 3 IP certified by ISO 26262 is in compliance with the ASIL-B safety level of European Automotive Regulations. The M31 M-PHY IP can be optimized for the chip design on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS), In-vehicle Infotainment Systems (IVI) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). It provides a safer and more unique design advantage for the automotive SoC design to meet the safety regulations of the automotive manufacturers.”
The M-PHY Gear 3 IP certified by ISO 26262 not only follows the development process of ISO 26262, but also performs quantitative analysis specifically for failure modes to improve product stability and safety. In addition to achieving the ASIL-B safety level for the automotive electronics, the M31 M-PHY Gear 3 IP still maintains a high level of industry and also meets the high standards of industry leaders for surface area and power consumption without additional cost, making it the an ideal high-performance and cost-effective best choice for automotive electronics manufacturers.
With the diversified development of automotive electronic devices, the use of cameras and displays continues to grow, and the importance of MIPI M-PHY is increasing. The applicable fields include the SoC on for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS), In-vehicle Infotainment Systems (IVI) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
In addition to MIPI M-PHY, this year M31 Technology will continue to implement other ISO 26262 product certification programs to provide the industry with more secure and reliable automotive IP. In the future, M31 will continue to develop high-quality “boutique IPs” based on the spirit of ultimate technology for the global IC industry.
