Silvaco Appoints Babak Taheri as new Chief Executive Office
Company promotes CTO and EVP of Products, Dr. Babak Taheri to be Chief Executive
SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 1, 2019 – Silvaco, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Babak Taheri to the position of Chief Executive Officer. He will also join Silvaco’s Board of Directors. Taheri has served as Silvaco’s Chief Technical Officer and Executive Vice-President of Products since October 2018. He succeeds David Dutton who has been CEO since 2015. Dutton remains on the Silvaco Board in the position of Vice-Chairman.
“The Board of Directors determined that Babak Taheri possesses the best skill set for Silvaco’s continued operational transformation, a compelling understanding of the marketplace and a strong strategic vision for Silvaco’s future,” said Iliya Pesic, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Since joining Silvaco in October of last year, he has brought his energy, expertise and insight to our management team. I look forward to his continuing contribution in growing Silvaco’s leadership in the industry.”
Taheri has over three decades of engineering and executive experience with a track record of transforming and scaling global technology platforms. He holds a Ph.D. in EECS and Neurosciences from UC Davis. He held executive positions in engineering, R&D, and corporate management at leading technology firms including Freescale Semiconductor (now NXP), Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, Apple, Invensense, and SRI International. He is holder of 28 issued patents, and over 20 published articles.
