Silex Insight Introduces Hardware Security Module (HSM) for Xilinx FPGA Devices
October 17, 2019 -- Silex Insight, a leading provider for flexible security IP cores, announce a collaboration with Xilinx, Inc. to provide a hardware security module (HSM) for the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC family, which is available as of today.
As the connectivity of industrial systems and automotive is growing, so is the need for data integrity and system authentication. A very important aspect of this embedded security is a HSM, a security enclave that provides secure key management and cryptographic processing.
The HSM IP module is developed, validated and licensed by Silex Insight as an FPGA-based IP solution dedicated to the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC platform. It removes the need for a dedicated HSM device and it incorporates 2 solutions:
- The HSM hardware IP, to be implemented in programmable logic and ready to interface with the Zynq UltraScale+ processing system.
- A software stack containing the HSM firmware, HSM driver code and an optional interface for allowing AUTOSAR integration.
“Xilinx is committed to providing our customers with best-in-class security platforms and IP solutions” said Willard Tu, senior director of Automotive at Xilinx. "Through our collaboration with Silex Insight, we’re able to deliver a complete HSM IP core for the Zynq UltraScale+ portfolio and provide our customers with a competitive advantage in the automotive industry, supporting ISO26262 standards.”
“We are super excited to present the new HSM design IP core for Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+, which is ready to interface its processing system and hardened functionality,” said Sébastien Rabou, Security Division Director of Silex Insight. “Our crypto solutions are valued by the market for being world’s leading in flexibility and scalability, ultra-high speed performance and compact footprint.”
The two companies will continue their collaboration on future solutions designed for secure communication, especially in the enterprise and automotive markets.
