S3 to launch 400MSPS 10 bit DAC for Video & Imaging IC Designs at FSA Suppliers Expo
San Jose, California, 7th October 2003 - Silicon & Software Systems (S3), a leading supplier of mixed signal circuit solutions, today announced the launch of its silicon-proven 400MSPS 10 bit DAC for applications in the PC and Professional video and imaging markets.
This compact, leading-edge DAC is silicon-proven on a standard 0.18um CMOS logic process and has already been characterized in target applications. The DAC forms part of a range of compact IP that S3 will exhibit at the FSA Suppliers Expo.
S3's portfolio of mixed signal IP includes ADCs from 8 to 12 bits @ 10-80 MHz, DACs from 8 to 14 bits @ 1 to 400 MHz with supporting low-power analog PLL and precision voltage reference (no trimming required) circuits.
"Many IC Designers are turning to specialist design houses, such as S3, for fully characterized silicon IP upon which to base their designs," said John Doyle, Product Marketing Manager at S3. "S3's solutions combine high performance in a small die area which is essential in cost sensitive video and imaging applications where multiple instances per chip are the norm. "
S3 will present their complete mixed signal portfolio at the 2003 FSA Suppliers Expo to be held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center on Thursday, October 9, 2003 in San Jose, Calif.
