Update: Synopsys Expands Security Solutions with Acquisition of Elliptic Technologies (June 29, 2015)
October 7, 2003
– Ottawa, Canada. Elliptic Semiconductor, a leading company in broadband wireless semiconductor products, announced today that Intrinsix Corp. has become a member of its Elliptic Alliance Partner Program (EAPP). As member of the EAPP program Intrinsix will enable Elliptic’s clients to rapidly implement their leading edge designs in the continuously expanding wireless markets.
Intrinsix provides complete design services for clients developing ASIC, system-on-chip (SoC) and Application Specific Standard Products (ASSP). “Integrating the latest Semiconductor IP opens a new era in the electronics industry. Using the substantial building blocks now available from Elliptic, companies can now build products and computing machines in silicon that could only be dreamed about a couple of years ago. In combination with our long history of designing and verifying these complex devices customers can also minimize the risk involved in these programs”, explained Josh Schissler VP of Business Development at Intrinsix.
”Elliptic welcomes Intrinsix to our partner program. With their skills and broad base of clients Intrinsix is well positioned to offer their clients low power, high performance network and security protocol processors” said Gord Harling, CEO and President of Elliptic Semiconductor. “We look forward to working closely with Intrinsix to ensure their customers’ needs are met”
Elliptic will make available, through EAPP, its entire family of virtual components, which encompass ultra-low power TCP/IP protocol processors with integrated security including secure socket layer (SSL) and Internet security protocol (IPSec) support. In addition, the complete family of highly optimized ciphers, hashing engines, complete SSL record processing engines and an IPSec security engine are available through this partners program. About Elliptic Semiconductor
Headquartered in Ottawa, Elliptic Semiconductor Inc (www.ellipticsemi.com) provides semiconductor products for low power designs of packet offload and security processing for wireless and handheld devices. The products offload the host processor and greatly reduce the power required for data transmission in 802.11, Ultra-wideband, Bluetooth, W-CDMA, CDMA-2000, EDGE and many other wireless data services. Working in the most advanced semiconductor processes, Elliptic Semiconductor will become the leading player in the emerging semiconductor intellectual property market. About Intrinsix
Intrinsix Corp. is the largest independent Electronic Design Outsourcing Company. With highly experienced engineers and teams, Intrinsix architects, designs and verifies hardware and software for complex electronic systems. These systems are most often System on Chip (SoC) designs in networking, wireless and digital media applications. As a result of the demanding feature and time-to-market characteristics of these applications, Intrinsix rapidly delivers its SoC hardware and deeply embedded software to customers by using state of the art co-design and co-verification techniques. Intrinsix provides these services to leading electronics and defense companies that have devices produced by semiconductor vendors such as Texas Instruments (TXN), IBM (IBM), Agere (AGRA), LSI Logic (LSI), Philips/VLSI (PHG), Atmel (ATML) and Toshiba (among others). Intrinsix also utilizes industry standard tools from companies such as Synopsys (SNPS), Mentor Graphics (MENT), Verisity (VRST), and Cadence (CDN), among others. The company's lengthy list of successful customers and partners attests to the high quality of its engineering and results-oriented teamwork. Intrinsix has a network of Design Centers strategically located throughout North America and Europe.
