ASUS Introduces Four Channel RDRAM Motherboard for Pentium 4 Architecture
Top-performing P4S13G is world's fastest motherboard for PC applications
RAMBUS DEVELOPER FORUM, TAIPEI,TAIWAN - November 06, 2003 - ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS), the worldwide leader of high-quality motherboards, announced the availability of P4S13G PC motherboard featuring four channels of RDRAM, making it the world's fastest motherboard for PC applications.
"Asus has combined the most innovative PC technologies into the feature-rich P4S13G PC motherboard" said Joe Hsieh, associate vice president of Sales and Marketing at Asus. "We are confident that users will find the four-channel RDRAM memory to deliver unprecedented performance."
Designed for multimedia gaming, content creation, and CAD applications, the P4S13G is based on the R659 chipset for top performance and dependability. With the extreme power of four-channel RDRAM, the P4S13G delivers a more realistic gaming experience, faster processing for digital video, and more computing speed for scientific applications.
"The launch of Asus P4S13G assures that our customers have access to the world's fastest motherboard, as well as a superior performance alternative to motherboards with dual DDR memory," said Do-Chan Choi, director of product planning at Samsung Electronics Corporation. "The four-channel architecture allows our customers to scale to even higher performance with future products using the forthcoming 1600MHz RDRAM."
Along with the highest memory bandwidth of four-channel RDRAM, the P4S13G supports a low-latency architecture and advanced features such as dynamic look-ahead cache and adaptive page management to significantly improve memory access speed. To harness even more power out of the Pentium® 4 CPU with 800MHz FSB, the P4S13G supports Advanced HyperStreaming™ Engine (AHSE) technology.
"As faster processors and new I/O standards come to market, PC motherboards will need faster memory performance," said Rich Warmke, director of marketing at Rambus. "Rambus will continue to work with industry leaders such as Asus and Samsung to bring highest performance solutions to desktop PCs."
The P4S13G offers superior memory performance compared with that of existing DDR 400 solutions. Combined with maximum support up to 4GB ECC or Non ECC unbuffered RIMM modules, the P4S13G is tailor made for the most memory-intensive applications
