Specman Elite with Third-Generation Simulation Technology Enables Existing and New Specman Elite Users to Lower Cost of Simulators by 50%

(Nasdaq:VRST), the leading supplier of Verification Process Automation (VPA) solutions, today announced a new package that will give the mainstream engineering community broader access to its market-leading verification technology. Verisity's SpeXsim(TM) integrates its flagship Specman Elite(R) with its world-class Xsim(R) simulator, which combines testbench automation with native compiled code mixed-language simulation. In addition, SpeXsim will be tightly integrated with Verisity's SureCov(TM) code coverage and leading debug solutions such as Novas. SpeXsim provides significantly higher value to Specman Elite customers, enabling them to access a third-generation simulator for approximately half the cost of what they typically pay for simulation today. SpeXsim is the first product in a series of solutions that will integrate Verisity's process automation technologies with the recently acquired scalable infrastructure technologies from Axis Systems.
SpeXsim is a direct kernel integration between Specman Elite and Axis' Xsim mixed-language simulator, offering high performance, out-of-the-box interoperability and ease of installation. SpeXsim offers the most efficient verification at the block and unit levels, and is the only verification solution today that provides true scalability for system-level verification with the ability to run on the Xtreme(R) acceleration/emulation platform.
SpeXsim is the only solution in the market today that supports every current and proposed IEEE design automation standard, including VHDL, Verilog, SystemC and the emerging IEEE P1647 verification language based on e. Verisity also plans to support the evolving design and assertion subsets of SystemVerilog and PSL. SpeXsim will be available on platforms running Solaris and RedHat Linux in the third quarter of 2004. The price is $33,000 U.S. for a time-based license and maintenance.
