Sasken joins Philips network for development
This appointment enables Sasken to provide support to manufacturers developing on Nexperia platforms. As part of the program, Sasken will provide software support for a variety of applications optimised for portable media devices and mobile phones.
Nexperia is the Philips brand for a unique group of products that streamline development of next-generation, connected multimedia appliances.
From highly integrated, programmable system-on-chip (SoC) and companion ICs to reference designs, system software, and development tools, flexible Nexperia solutions help manufacturers meet market demands for innovative, appealing products in targeted consumer and communications markets. Nexperia home products optimise features, compatibility, and performance in entertainment and computing devices for the home.
“Sasken has been selected by Philips as a software development partner based on our ability to offer a complete system development capability – from the provision of IP to products and professional services,” said Colin Aitken, vice president and general manager - Europe for Sasken.
“This scope, combined with our development range, from multimedia codecs to dedicated applications such as protocol stacks, positions Sasken as one of the leading providers of systems solutions.”
In addition to providing software services and support to Philips, Sasken is also positioned to provide software development services to OEMs utilising the Nexperia Media Processor platform.
