The logiAIR audio IR digital FM modulator is a very compact Xylon IP core that converts digital stereo audio input into trains of digital pulses fed into a simple analog front-end emitter. The emitter is actually IR LEDs driver that turns modulated audio signals into beams of IR light. Standard IR headphones convert IR broadcasted audio into a clean sound. The logiAIR supports audio signals with various sample resolutions and sampling rate frequencies, and can be easily interfaced to any source of the digital sound. The logiAIR is, like the other IP cores from Xylon logicBRICKS™ IP library, fully embedded into Xilinx Platform Studio (XPS) and the EDK. Therefore it can be easily customized and tuned for optimal slice consumption and features set. The logiAIR supports FM modulation of a single stereo audio channel, and more audio channels can be modulated by additional logiAIR instances within a single Xilinx FPGA chip.
