HEVC/H.265 Main10 Profile Codec IP for UHD(4K)
The Chips&Media WAVE420 is one of the most advanced hardware video codec IP core which supports the next generation HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding) standard, also known as H.265.
The WAVE420 is deliberately designed for multicore architecture to deliver outstanding performance and scalability. The single core requires only about 100MHz clock frequency to decode or encode 1080p video at 30 frames per second, and it is extendable up to 8K 60fps processing.
In addition to its superior 4K decoding capabilities, the WAVE420 also provides maximum bandwidth efficiency and exceptional low power consumption, which are among today’s most demanding requirements across all connected devices. With CFrame™ frame compression technology in it, it can reach around 50~70% of bandwidth reduction on average.
The WAVE420 is suitable for application across various industry segments including ultra high-definition televisions(UHDTVs), UHD camcorders, set-top boxes(STBs),
smartphones, tablets and any other applications with super high resolution.
