MCU Design Enablement: T2M-IP Expands Footprint via Key IP Licensing in South Korea

Sept. 15, 2025 –

T2M-IP, a global leader in high-performance semiconductor IP cores, today announced the successful licensing of its advanced Analog & Mixed-Signal IP cores portfolio to a Tier-1 semiconductor company in Korea. This strategic engagement reinforces T2M-IP’s commitment to enabling next-generation System-on-Chip (SoC) designs across consumer electronics, industrial automation, automotive, and IoT applications.

Advanced Clock Generation IP Cores: High-Performance PLLs and Oscillators

The advanced Clock Generation IP integrates both fractional-N and integer-N Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs) designed to cover a wide frequency range from 50 MHz up to 1.5 GHz. The fractional-N PLL achieves fine frequency resolution with sub-ppm accuracy, supporting applications that demand precision such as wireless communication protocols and high-speed serial interfaces. The integer-N PLL provides ultra-low power operation with lock times under 10 µs, optimized for real-time embedded control. Complementary timing solutions include a crystal driver interface supporting crystals from 32 KHz to 64 MHz, as well as an Ultra low power SAR ADC IP Core option for always-on domains. The IP cores is optimized for jitter performance below 200 fs RMS and phase noise reduction, enabling robust clocking for RF front-ends, multimedia processors, and sensor hubs in MCU-based SoCs.

Power Management Unit (PMU) IP Core: Efficient Regulators and Robust Protection

The Power Management Unit (PMU) IP core delivers a complete suite of power regulation and protection features. It integrates capless Low-Dropout Regulators (LDOs) with output currents up to 200 mA and dropout voltages below 100 mV for noise-sensitive analog domains, alongside high-efficiency synchronous buck DC-DC converters supporting up to 2 A load currents with >90% efficiency. The PMU IP core also incorporates boost converters for sub-1 V battery startup and retention modes. Protection and system stability are ensured by built-in Power-On Reset (POR), Brown-Out Reset (BOR), and watchdog timer circuits. Real-time power detectors provide voltage and current monitoring with ±1% accuracy, while programmable sequencing logic enables multi-rail startup in less than 100 µs, making the PMU ideal for battery-powered MCUs in automotive and industrial environments.

IC Monitoring IP: PVT, Thermal, and Power Integrity Management IP Cores

The IC Monitoring IP enhances reliability and functional safety with advanced telemetry features. An embedded temperature sensor achieves ±1°C accuracy across –40°C to 125°C, enabling precise thermal tracking across the die. The integrated PVT (Process, Voltage, Temperature) monitoring subsystem measures process corners through on-chip ring oscillators, supply voltage with 0.5% accuracy across 0.6 V to 1.5 V ranges, and temperature gradients across multiple sensing points. For power integrity, the solution includes I-R drop monitoring, detecting voltage drops greater than 5 mV across the on-chip power grid, thereby preventing performance degradation and supporting compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety standards. Together, these monitoring features ensure predictable MCU behavior in mission-critical automotive and industrial use cases.

High-Precision Data Converter IP Cores: ADCs and DACs for Sensor Interfaces

To complement timing and power solutions, the IP core portfolio includes high-performance Data Converters designed for sensor-rich MCU applications. The ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) family provides resolutions from 10-bit to 14-bit with sampling rates up to 50 MS/s, supporting both SAR (Successive Approximation Register) and Delta-Sigma architectures. These converters enable accurate signal acquisition for everything from low-power environmental sensors to high-speed signal processing. Integrated calibration ensures ±1 LSB INL/DNL performance across voltage and temperature variations. The DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) options deliver 10-bit to 12-bit resolution with update rates up to 500 KS/s, optimized for control loop and waveform generation functions in MCU-based SoCs.

Mixed-Signal Interface and Security IP Cores for Connected MCUs

Further extending MCU functionality, the mixed-signal IP cores portfolio offers a range of connectivity, interface, and security solutions. The Audio and Voice Codec IP support 16-bit/24-bit resolution and sampling rates up to 192 KHz, with integrated low-power ADCs and DACs tailored for voice command and multimedia applications. Capacitive Touch and Sensing IP enables up to 64 channels with sensitivity below 20 fF, delivering reliable human-machine interfaces for consumer and industrial MCUs. High-speed Interface IP blocks such as USB 2.0/3.0 PHYs, MIPI CSI/DSI, and LVDS provide robust external connectivity for sensors, displays, and communication modules. For security, the Analog Security IP cores includes True Random Number Generators (TRNGs) leveraging thermal and jitter noise entropy sources, along with tamper-detection circuits, enabling hardware-level protection for secure MCU platforms.

Driving MCU Innovation in South Korea and Beyond

By adopting this portfolio of advanced mixed-signal IP cores, the Tier-1 MCU company in South Korea strengthens its ability to deliver next-generation SoCs that combine precision, efficiency, and long-term reliability. These technologies enable innovation across automotive, industrial, consumer, and IoT markets, reinforcing the company’s leadership role in the global microcontroller industry.
