TSMC is preparing to launch the manufacturing of next-generation chips in Japan

TSMC, the largest semiconductor manufacturing company in the world, is expanding its industrial presence in Asia with plans to launch advanced 3-nanometer chip production in Japan by 2028.

According to a recent Taiwanese government statement, TSMC is preparing to begin equipment installation and mass production operations at its second factory in Japan, reflecting the company's expansion in the global semiconductor market and enhancing its production capabilities outside Taiwan.

This move by TSMC is part of a long-term strategy aimed at strengthening the resilience of global supply chains in the chip sector, especially given the increasing demand for advanced technologies used in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
