TSMC has secured another major win in advanced process technology. Following Apple, MediaTek's flagship chip, the Dimensity 9600 Pro, is confirmed to use TSMC's enhanced 2nm N2P process, demonstrating that TSMC can now stably allocate 2nm capacity across multiple major customers rather than concentrating on a single client. The new chip delivers a 17% improvement in single-core performance and up to 61% reduction in multi-core power consumption. Qualcomm's fourth-quarter flagship processor 2nm orders are the next key indicator, with Samsung Electronics aggressively pursuing them. Samsung is countering with a diversified customer portfolio including Tesla's AI5 chip and a strategic partnership with Broadcom, with its 2nm yield reportedly improving to above 70%. TSMC held a 72.5% foundry market share in the second quarter, far ahead of Samsung's 5.9%, but the competition between the two is set to continue.
