TSMC has announced plans to more than double its annual 2nm process production capacity by 2027 compared to this year. The company's 2nm revenue share reached 8% in Q3, up 5 percentage points from the previous quarter, with both revenue and net profit hitting record highs. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics' foundry market share fell to 5.9%, widening the gap with TSMC to 66.6 percentage points. Samsung is preparing to begin operations at its Taylor, Texas plant by year-end, backed by a $16.5 billion contract with Tesla, but proving yield rates and mass production stability will be key to securing new customers.
