Quantum computing passed $1 billion in worldwide revenue in 2025. In the same year, three companies from the first wave of quantum-sector SPACs reported about $138 million against roughly $1.2 billion they had once forecast for 2025.
Those numbers do not cancel each other out. They tell us something more useful. Quantum has reached the point where technical progress, commercial adoption, and market expectations can finally be judged separately.
Five years ago, that was much harder. Companies could show laboratory results and publish ambitious roadmaps, but there was little commercial history against which to test them. Now some of those forecasts have reached their due dates.
