Intel plans to begin external distribution of the 0.9 process design kit (PDK) for its 14A process in October and aims to start mass production in 2029 after discussions with customers on production scale and product designs.
Lip-Bu Tan, chief executive of Intel, said at the J.P. Morgan investor conference on May 19 (local time) that the company had already begun providing the 0.5 PDK for Intel Foundry's 14A process to customers and that development was progressing smoothly. He added that external customer distribution of the 0.9 PDK is targeted for October, while internal business units will receive access earlier.
