As artificial intelligence models become larger, more complex and increasingly embedded in everyday products, semiconductor designers face a growing challenge: how to deliver high-performance AI without adding excessive complexity, power consumption and development overhead.

For Quadric, the answer lies in rethinking processor architecture altogether. The semiconductor IP company licenses technology that allows chipmakers to integrate AI acceleration into their own system-on-chip (SoC) designs. At the heart of its strategy is Chimera, a General-Purpose Neural Processing Unit (GPNPU) designed to combine AI inference, digital signal processing and conventional computing within a single programmable architecture.

According to Veerbhan Kheterpal, CEO and co-founder of Quadric, the company's approach was born from the limitations of conventional AI processor designs.
