Korea Semiconductor Association Expands AI Innovation Center in Silicon Valley

April 30, 2026 -

The Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA) has expanded its Korea-U.S. AI Semiconductor Innovation Center in Silicon Valley, the association said Wednesday. The expansion strengthens a key outpost supporting Korean fabless (chip design) companies in their push into the U.S. market.

With the expansion, the center, which opened in September 2024, doubled its tenant companies from five to 10 and its membership companies from 20 to 40. Membership companies do not reside at the center but receive networking and marketing support.

Companies backed by the center posted $36 million (about 53 billion won) in U.S. sales last year, demonstrating strong performance. Sapien Semiconductor signed a local supply contract for display driver chips, while SemiFive won a contract to develop a next-generation security encryption technology accelerator.
