Bytom, Poland -- DCD-SEMI announces the release of its EdDSA Curve25519 extension, enhancing the CryptOne configurable cryptographic co-processor with advanced support for modern elliptic-curve cryptography. The new IP core delivers an optimal balance of security, performance, and silicon efficiency, addressing the growing demand for robust cryptographic solutions in embedded and hardware-based systems.
The implementation is based on Curve25519, a widely adopted 255-bit elliptic curve known for its high performance, compact arithmetic, and strong resistance to side-channel attacks. The extension enables both X25519 key agreement and EdDSA25519 digital signature operations, supporting secure communication protocols across a wide range of applications.
Integrated directly into the CryptOne architecture, the Curve25519 module introduces dedicated hardware instructions, modular arithmetic accelerators, and optimized control logic. This approach ensures efficient execution of scalar multiplication, modular reduction, and field operations over the Curve25519 prime field. By minimizing latency and reducing silicon area and energy consumption, the design achieves an industry-leading size-to-performance ratio.
Security remains a core focus of the implementation. Leveraging the inherent advantages of Edwards-curve cryptography, the design features predictable execution patterns and simplified arithmetic operations, reducing the risk of timing-based side-channel attacks. The solution aligns with key industry standards, including RFC 7748 for X25519 and RFC 8032 for EdDSA, ensuring interoperability and compliance with modern cryptographic requirements.
The development process includes comprehensive algorithm modeling, HDL implementation, and rigorous verification using automated test environments. The IP core has been validated against RFC-compliant test vectors and tested in both simulation and FPGA environments, ensuring functional correctness and optimized performance prior to deployment.
With this release, DCD-SEMI strengthens the CryptOne platform as a versatile and secure solution for next-generation digital systems. The EdDSA Curve25519 extension is well suited for applications in IoT, automotive, telecommunications, FinTech, cloud infrastructure, and other security-critical domains.
