Shanghai, China—Brite Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (BriteSemi, 688691), a leading provider of custom ASIC and IP solutions, today announced that its 40nm 16-bit 4Msps high-performance SAR ADC IP has successfully completed taped-out and passed full-function and full-performance verification, and has been licensed to multiple customers.
By outstanding static and dynamic performance as well as high flexibility, this IP offers a mature, mass-production-ready solution for industrial control, high-end instrumentation, automotive electronics and other fields. It has been deployed in real-time digital signal processing for various customer products, proving its high reliability and manufacturability.
Superior Static and Dynamic Performance
Tailored to meet the demands for high precision, low power consumption and high flexibility in industrial and automotive applications, this 40nm SAR ADC IP delivers remarkable performance.
The dynamic performance is exceptional, delivering an ENOB≥14.2 bits, SFDR up to 107 dB and THD as low as -106.4 dB. This IP effectively suppresses spurious signals and harmonic distortion, captures weak signals accurately, and provides stable and reliable input for real-time digital signal processing, fully complying with strict high-precision detection requirements of high-end industrial and automotive scenarios.
It also achieves excellent static performance. The DNL is within ±0.7 LSB, delivering superior linearity, minimizing signal acquisition distortion and ensuring high accuracy and stability throughout data collection, perfectly adapting to the stringent requirements of industrial and automotive applications
Ultra-Low Power & Small Die Area: Enabling Cost Reduction and Device Miniaturization
In response to the industry trends of chip miniaturization, low power consumption and cost reduction, the IP has been optimized for lower power consumption and smaller die size. It features a core area of only 0.168mm² and power consumption below 3.5mA, striking an optimal balance among high performance, small die size and low power consumption. The compact core size helps reduce the overall dimension of SoC, making it ideal for portable and miniaturized smart equipment. Its ultra-low power design cuts down energy consumption substantially, helping customers optimize power consumption, lower costs and improve market competitiveness.
High Flexibility and Wide Compatibility to Accelerate Time-to-Market
High flexibility and wide compatibility stand out as key advantages of this 40nm 16-bit 4Msps SAR ADC IP, catering to diverse chip design demands. It supports a wide supply voltage range of 1.8V to 3.6V for various low-power chip design and supports both single-ended and differential input modes. The number of input channels is adjustable from 8 to 16, and its resolution can be configured from 12-bit to 16-bit as required. With rich configurable parameters, the IP can be flexibly adapted to different application scenarios. It eliminates repeated development and debugging for customers, greatly cuts secondary development costs, and significantly shortens the cycles of R&D, verification and product launch, enabling customers to seize market opportunities rapidly.
Mature Process and Market Validation for Mass Production
Developed on the mature 40nm process, this 16-bit 4Msps high-performance SAR ADC IP delivers a good balance between outstanding performance and cost effectiveness, well meeting the strict requirements for high reliability and long service life in industrial and automotive applications. With stable and outstanding performance, the IP has been deployed in multiple customer projects, and can be directly integrated into industrial MCUs, automotive control chips and high-precision instrumentation SoC.
The multiple licensing of this 40nm 16-bit 4Msps high-performance SAR ADC IP further enriches Brite Semiconductor’s analog IP portfolio for mature processes, providing a highly reliable solution for industrial and automotive sectors. Going forward, we will continue to deepen its layout in analog IP, optimize product performance, roll out iterative high-quality IP solutions, and launch more premium IP products to help customers achieve breakthroughs in both technology and market expansion.
