Founded in 2001, Novocell Semiconductor specializes in developing and delivering the highest reliability OTP memory IP to the semiconductor industry.

Novocell’s patented and proven Smartbit™-based OTP Memory is a family of non-volatile memory IP which can be embedded in fully standard Logic CMOS without any additional process steps or post processing. All Smartbit-based IP products have the ability to be programmed in the field at the package, at circuit, or wafer level and the Macros have been designed to meet your highest reliability and environmental requirements.

Due to our Smartbit's unique design and programming methodology, high voltage is generated and confined only within the memory core and is applied only until the current signature of hard breakdown is detected, guaranteeing 100% programmability and the highest level of data retention. Novocell's SmartBit technology uses this dynamic programming of each bit to assure that it reaches a permanent, hard breakdown state, and this patented method is unique to Novocell in the OTP segment.

In 2009, Novocell was the first antifuse vendor to create an antifuse-style Multi-Time Write product, NovoBytes MTP, as an embedded MTP NVM memory IP available at standard CMOS processes across multiple foundries and both legacy and advanced process nodes, down to 28nm.

Novocell NVM IP is available at all major foundries from 350nm to 28nm; Novobits provides an ideal register efuse/polyfuse replacement up to 256bits. Novobits SPX in a special version of Novobits including wrappers for Serial input/output and a Preview mode for data test, from 32bits to 256bits. NovoBytes is a ROM style array product specifically designed for code storage, configuration/feature enablement, security features, encryption keys, and device or part IDs. NovoHD is an ultra high density product with capacity to 4Mbits and featuring the fastest access times available for antifuse OTP (<12nsec).
