The Supply Domain Voltage Monitor in TSMC 28HPM CMOS designed to monitor multiple voltage levels within the range of 0.5V to 1.2V such as core logic voltage domains of large digital ASICs.
The Supply Domain Monitor IP can be used stand alone for single voltage domain monitoring, or can be connected to up to 8 additional voltage domains or points across the chip simply by placing the remote sensor where the monitoring is required, and connecting it to the Supply Domain Monitor IP. The remote node is minimal in size.
The circuit is robust against process and temperature variation. Digital scan chain support is built in allowing full integration into a digital design flow.
The circuit operation begins when the run signal is set high. It measures the voltage on vddv or an_bus depending on the setting of the sel and cfg signals. Once the output code is generated the rdy signal is pulsed high. The measurement process takes approximately 2048 cycles of the clk signal, which is 2.048ms when using a 1MHz clock.
