FADU Completes Verification of next generation NVMe eSSD using S2C's Prodigy Virtex UltraScale Prototyping Platform
SoC Development Cycle Significantly Shortened
San Jose, CA – November 2, 2017 - S2C, Inc., a leading provider of FPGA-based rapid prototyping solutions for today’s innovative designs, announced that FADU, a fabless startup focusing on memory and storage architecture, has completed the verification of their next generation NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) eSSD using S2C’s VU440 Prodigy Logic Modules. FADU achieved high-speed data transmission performance through S2C’s PCIe Gen3 kit and was able to prototype the complete eSSD system by utilizing custom-built S2C daughter cards that connect to the S2C VU440 Prodigy Logic Module.
“FADU’s next generation NVMe eSSD is a very important innovation providing the best in the industry in terms of power consumption and performance. We support leading-edge concepts which can be implemented with storage mediums including SSD level QoS and in-storage processing. Based on our expertise in storage mediums and storage architecture which is a critical component of data centers, we can add value to the building of next generation computing architectures.” said Sunggab Lee, Director of FADU. “The S2C Prodigy Prototyping Platform, including its advanced automation software helped us to immediately shorten the SOC development cycle. By following S2C’s custom daughterboard design guide including detailed SI simulation information, we were able to build high-speed daughter boards to verify the complete eSSD system. In addition, the use of S2C’s PCIe Gen3 x8 kit allowed us to estimate high speed data transmission performance early in the FPGA prototyping cycle.”
“Memory and storage architecture pioneer FADU requires flexible and high-performance FPGA-based prototyping solutions to verify new architectures and lead the industry in innovation.” commented Toshio Nakama, CEO of S2C. “We continually strive to deliver the most advanced, robust and highest quality prototyping solutions to help customers like FADU to quickly build prototyping validation targets and accelerate time-to-market. The success that FADU has achieved is a testament to our technology commitment.”
