"The ARC Video 404V is a programmable Video subsystem that is configurable and offers a highly efficient video encode and video decode solution for standard definition low power multimedia applications. ARC™ Video Subsystem family members include the following: AV 417V, AV 407V, AV 404V, and AV 401V. These cores provide highly efficient video decode. Each family member incorporates must-have video and imaging codecs in a pre-verified, programmable environment. Being fully programmable and configurable, these products enable ARC customers to create differentiated products. The subsystems are targeted towards multi-standard, video enabled-devices such as cell phones, image sensors, portable media players, mobile TV handsets, DVR, etc. The family members employ Dynamic Adaptive Encoding", which enables encoding of video streams at the lowest power. Dynamic Adaptive Encoding continuously evaluates system resources and adaptively applies different processing resources to achieve the optimum result. For example, Dynamic Adaptive Encoding allows the designer to adjust the encoding process in a phone with a fully charged battery versus one running close to empty. The products are capable of encoding and decoding Standard Definition resolution video using advanced video coding standards such as H.264. "
