Forward Concepts Forecasts LTE Baseband Market to Grow 47% in 2014
Mesa, AZ, U.S.A. May 13, 2014: Forward Concepts, a leader in DSP and wireless market research is proud to announce the publication of its newest report, "LTE Chip Market Trends." The report provides a detailed quarterly market analysis of all smartphone and tablet suppliers and details LTE cellular ICs for modems, application processors, RF transceivers and power amplifiers.
Smartphones represented 73% of the LTE cellphone market in 2013 while LTE tablets reached 16%. "We expect tablets and hybrid notebooks to drive standalone LTE modem penetration rates in 2014 while integrated com-processors continue to lead in revenues." said Carter L. Horney, the author of the report. He went on to say, "The total LTE baseband market grew from 103 million units in 2012 to 219 million in 2013. We forecast that it will grow by 47% to 338 million units this year."
The report asserts that demand for carrier aggregation by mature LTE operators will drive replacement rates for LTE 3G/4G devices in 2014 and 2015 as users demand more bandwidth and higher data rates.
Forecasts are provided through 2018 for both revenue and units for all covered chips. Market shares for all vendors for each chip type are included and 2014 market prospects for key vendors are discussed.
Forward Concepts' President, Will Strauss said, "We believe that this publication is the most comprehensive and detailed market report on LTE cellular chips available."
The report is provided in PDF format and is priced at $3,750. For a description and detailed table of contents, please click here.
