Dover Microsystems' Revolutionary Silicon IP Cybersecurity Approach Fuels Momentum
Company closes out 2018 with a 75% increase in headcount, including key engineering hires to further expand capabilities of flagship CoreGuard® solution
WALTHAM, MA – December 18, 2018 –Dover Microsystems, Inc., the first company to bring real security, privacy, and safety enforcement to silicon, continues its great momentum heading into the new year. The company signed two major agreements in 2018 and increased headcount by nearly 75 percent to meet demand for its revolutionary CoreGuard® technology. The growing team includes key hires across the engineering group, which has worked tirelessly to demonstrate that only silicon-based solutions like CoreGuard can stem the growing number of network-based attacks rooted in software vulnerabilities. A groundbreaking approach to cybersecurity, Dover’s CoreGuard silicon IP technology can be integrated into any RISC-based embedded system. CoreGuard empowers embedded processors to defend themselves in real-time against entire classes of network-based attacks and protects against flawed software and safety violations. This revolutionary approach has led to industry recognition for Dover, including as a finalist in the 2018 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium’s Innovation Showcase and named one of the industry’s “10 Hottest Cybersecurity Startup Companies of 2018,” by CRN.
The addition of six members to the engineering team, across both software and hardware groups allowed Dover to successfully complete and release its new “Discover” evaluation kit, which enables prospects to see first-hand the power of the CoreGuard technology. The team also created a demo of CoreGuard’s potential impact on the automotive world. The demo was presented at industry conferences across the globe—including at Arm TechCon 2018—and showcased how CoreGuard can block buffer overflow, data exfiltration, and sequence override attacks in real-time to ensure the security, safety and privacy of automotive embedded system. Dover’s senior leadership team also earned invitations to speak at industry events throughout the year including the Symposium for Securing IoT, Sensors Expo, and the RISC-V Summit. CEO, Jothy Rosenberg, a long-time cybersecurity entrepreneur, were asked to speak on topics like the need for a new hardware-based approach to cybersecurity. “It’s no secret that attacking the cybersecurity epidemic in the same old way is not working to keep our connected devices and systems safe. Over the past 18 months, the industry has come to recognize that preventing an attacker’s ability to take over a processor in the first place is where IoT security must begin,” said Jothy Rosenberg, Dover’s CEO and Founder. “By incorporating CoreGuard into processors in embedded systems, organizations across automotive, medical devices, and other connected industries can truly ensure they have the security, safety, and privacy needed to establish a foundation of IoT trust.”
